The organisers of the Lanzarote Summer Music festival are a group of local residents living in Lanzarote over a good many years, who, in association with A.D.C.R. Tiñosa (Tiguafaya), have come together with the aim of using their individual talents and contacts to put on a huge public festival and help out people far less privileged than ourselves.

Our chosen charity is ‘Cáritas Lanzarote‘, who provide help to the homeless. We feel this is a social problem far closer to our doorstep than we give credit, with a lot of people spending their time and effort on a cause that we have very little experience of in our day to day lives. Our aim is to raise both money and awareness to this organisation, while at the same time putting on a special day of activities, live music and entertainment for the people living here in Lanzarote.

CÁRITAS

Cáritas Lanzarote is a social organization under the Catholic Church. Within Cáritas there is a help and advice service for the homeless which includes:

• Public soup kitchens
• Personal hygiene facilities (showers)
• Clothing distribution
• Shelter
• Psychological help and advice

These services help to improve the life and conditions of the homeless, supplying food, protection, interests and general day to day needs, with a professional team of people working towards creating self sufficiency and a place in society for many individuals.

Activities:

• Food Market (10.00 to 14.00H).
• International Market (17.00 to 21.00H).
• Cultural and Tourist information.
• Kids fun, stalls and entertainers (all day).
• Beer and food tent (10.00 to 24.00H).
• Raffles, competitions and prizes.
